The Missing Left Hand Cabinet.

This is a photoshop impression of the missing left hand Rowat cabinet. To the best of my knowledge, only four original cabinets exist. CRM designed these as a pair, but as far as I am aware, only the right hand versions were made. The reason for this is a mystery.

I feel sorry for this cabinet. It's brothers and sisters command million dollar prices, and are proudly displayed in museums and private collections, but this cabinet was never given that chance.
So, as a small testament to a rightable wrong, I have given a mystery a little half-life.
You are as beautiful as your siblings. Open your doors and let the internet in.

CRM Cover Your Ears.

The graphic above is my cover of the Washstand for the main bedroom, The Hill House, Helensburgh, Scotland.

It can be seen in the right hand side of photograph below.

Being a Pantalunatic, I cannot explain why I am obsessed, other than these words;

It's not about copying what you see, it's about drawing what you feel.

This is a journey I have embarked upon for reasons unknown to me, with an outcome I know not where.
For this journey is swathed in mystery, and the path is littered with error,
Each trip a lesson, a rabbit hole of pleasure and pain, of imprecision,
Of seeking cabbages in an orchard of darkness. Of life, of love, of obsession, of Passion.

Well Suspended.

A little further progress with my CRM pastiche light. Dome attached to the LED boards, and hook fitted for suspension chain.

A paparazzi shot above.

It looks quite good from a distance, and I'm fairly pleased with how it's turned out. The LEDs are being driven at 300mA in the shot above.

The copper dome gives the light a lovely red wine quality, so when I finally find a permanent home for it, I shall open a bottle and give a toast to CRM-MMM .  Version 2, which is the same board and pattern, but rotated 90 degress, is under construction. Don't know yet if I will make a copper dome for it, or use an alternative device.

CRM Cover Expanded.

Variation 64¼ of the panels on the writing desk as described in the post below. This took two glasses of whisky, with sips about once every two minutes. And indeed, fine it was.
Hic.

This is my cover of one leaded glass & metal panel, used to decorate a writing desk designed & made for music teacher and publisher J.Michael Diack in 1901.

Original can be seen here.

Laconic Comic.

Still lots to do. I have yet to work out how to fix the parts together so that they can be taken apart for easy transport. I will mount the lid/dome a little higher than shown above, which will let a lot more light out. Still cogitating on the table/hanging decision.

I'll probably settle for making this a hanging lamp, even though I don't have anywhere to hang it.
Version two is already under construction, which will be red, green, blue, and white variable.

Dimension 37.

A small gift from Dimension 37.

Lamp For A Lover.

The progress of the ages with the new lamp. LEDs added to the four boards as shown below.

The boards joined together and connected to a power supply for testing, shown below.

A side view below.  These LEDs are capable of 350mA drive, here shown using 50mA for test.

Next will be the forming of the copper lid/dome.  Still thinking about the possibility of a table lamp option, which would be good as I can house the power supply circuitry in the copper tube I would use as a stand. Don't know how it will look though.

More Thursday. I have to go back to 1956 tonight to make a small adjustment to dimension 37.

Adapt And Overcome.

I'm seriously thinking of growing up into a mature human being.

Friends, I need all the discouragement you can send!

Holiday Variations.

All made with 100% recycled pixels.

I Have Seen The Light!

It's not often that I have a thought, but the thought that came to me today, caused me to rotate ninety degrees.  This may eventually turn into version two.

I will also have to rotate the design, but that is not a problem. I have sourced some copper sheet that I will form into the lid/dome, once I have worked out how to do it.

Another thought was the possibility of making these into table lamps instead of hanging lamps. Since there is no globe or lamp inside, there is nothing to prevent a vertical stand being used. I shall cogitate on the matter further.
