Bitten Off More Than I Could Chew...

The graphic below turned out to be a much larger task than I imagined, when I first decided to produce a cover version in January.
It has taken me 52 days in all, to get to this post. It is also, I believe, my first nude Lady post.
This is my cover of a drawing by German artist Adolf Höfer, published in the German Art periodical Jugend: 2.1897, Band2 (Nr. 27-52)in 1897. The University of Heidelberg has kindly digitized the periodical, and made them available on the web.
The original published graphic is here.

As always, clicking upon the graphic will enable a larger view.

Admittedly, not much of a larger view. Blogger has constrained, contracted, and compressed, so that 445x1600 is all that's left.
But it is less pixellated, at least that's something...

So two things: 1) lilies of the valley are my favorite flower and thus I was very excited about this one!! Then there were boobies but that's ok :)

And b) I thought the bottom said "homage to Adolf HITLER" which made me laugh and then laugh harder when I realized how silly that was! I just don't know enough Adolf's I guess!

Fantastic work, as always!

Jenn, thank you. I guess the name Adolf isn't too popular these days, much the same as Genghis McCann. I swear I kept my eyes closed when I was drawing the boobies. :¬)
Honest. ( I just burst into the Springtime song from 'The Producers'.)

I read it the same way as Jenn did and was momentarily horrified. Genghis McCann is either going to be my new band name or my porn name, can't decide.

I thought the same as Jenn. I could have sworn it said Adolf Hitler. I was stunned that Hitler was capable of producing such a beautiful work.

Feeling way better to know it was Hofer. Relieved, in fact.

We probably all should have realized it wasn't Hitler when she had dark hair. Wasn't he against that sort of thing?

ps... Dale, Genghis McCann is totally a stripper. Big reveal is with a kilt!

What can I say. Genghis McCann lives two streets away, and funnily enough, is a butcher.

Go figure!
