Information.

I am preparing a Tutorial on how to use Windows Paint.
I propose to cover:

Adding text to a graphic.
Adding LOLCAT style text to a graphic.
Creating and adding speech bubbles to a graphic.

I would like to know if anyone has any other topics they would like covered.
I would like to know if there is a preferred resolution eg, 640x480, 800x600 or 1024x768. Viewing graphics that are a higher resolution then your screen size can be annoying, so it's best to prepare beforehand.

I intend to use Paint on Windows XP. I don't have Vista, but hopefully there won't be a great difference.

Paint started as quite a powerful program. The Win98 version has better features and is more versatile than the hobbled Win2000 & XP versions.

The two graphics below were created with Windows Paint in 1990.

That's me with the beard. Vegetarian Cow Pie for all!

I have many photo editing programs and yet I still use paint for erasing all but the image portion I want. First I make sure it's a gif file and then I erase from a magnified view of the photo. I then save and move the image over to the old Microsoft Photo program where it has a one button feature to make the background transparent. That way, I can paste what I want seamlessly onto whatever I intended.

Cat, glad it worked out. What's next on the list?

VE, I think I understand. I use Paint Shop Pro in preference to Photoshop, but do still use MS Paint to doodle.

Fab, the rough beard delivers ecstasy wherever it's placed...

Cat, my super power is that I can peel potatoes by thought. Useful, heh?

Dale, the beard awaits...

Geo; That picture of you looks a little like Olive Oyl...
